MISS CROFTON, UNDERWEAR EXTRAORDINAIRE

I've written about the lovely old house Crofton 89 before [here], and I've promised to write more. I lived there a couple of years ago, and I still think about it all the time. A few months before I moved away to go on great adventures, a lovely little lass called Jess moved in to the house. People were always moving in and out, or just staying for a while. According to one source, 25 people lived in the house in different stages over a few years. Jess is the girl in the pictures, and the pictures were taken in the house.

So I moved away, and more people moved in and out, until two young ladies called Georgia and Katie moved in to stay. They started to make handmade knickers (ka-nickers) out of lovely floral cloth which they sold at markets. They named their vintage-style lingerie after the house - Miss Crofton. Soon Miss Crofton was featured all over the place.

I truly believe that the old house has had a magical spell cast over it, because all that has come out of it has been wonderful. I will write more about the wondrous things that have come out of Crofton 89 later, because there's loads more. It was a little commune of creativity, complete with dirty cups of tea and cheap bottles wine.
